Dichotomy of Evil

Not all villains are as they seem...
One of the first things I think of when I see a thermal is their ability to be a completely different polish depending on the temperature. It gives them this hidden side, sort of like a Jekyll and Hyde moment.
For this collection I was inspired by villains. Much like thermal polishes, not a lot of them are as they seem. While outwardly evil, they most often have motivators that make them seem not so bad. I mean, if someone killed my whole family or something I would be pretty grumpy too.
For this collection, with the exception of Elphie, I was inspired by the color first and had fun thinking of villains that matched. Elphie was the starting point, and I knew I wanted to do a villain collection once I made her polish.
Without further ado... Meet the Dichotomy of Evil Collection
Elphie

This is a gorgeous green shimmer polish that shifts from a bright, grassy green to a deep green. Elphie is someone who was beaten down by the administration (feel familiar?) for having beliefs of equality and justice for those persecuted. Because she was powerful, she was intimidating to the ones in charge and was ousted for it. She is not as evil as she seems when the whole story comes to light.
Beast

Beast is a bright blue shimmer polish that shifts to a deep navy when cold. Beast, or Prince Adam from Beauty and the Beast, was quite the off-putting, jaded monster at the beginning. However, much like Belle, we find out that he isn't as bad as he seems. Once he learns to love and accept love from others, his curse is broken and his darker side is gone.
Maleficent

This polish is a stunning purple that gets darker in the cold. The violet shimmer adds such a depth to this polish that I believe truly encapsulates who Maleficent is. It is also villains like these that make me so grateful for some of the Disney movies focusing on them. Maleficent was betrayed by a peasant who cut off her wings to become king, I mean yeah, I'd be pretty pissed too.
Scarlet Witch

Scarlet Witch is a bright red polish that turns to a moody maroon when cold. The shimmer in this one! Ugh. I definitely blame Wanda Vision for the naming of this one. The Scarlet Witch, or Wanda, kept a whole town captive in an illusion of her mind all because she had lost the love of her life. I mean, yeah, love makes you crazy. However, understanding the pain she feels and the level of loss she is experiencing, I wouldn't call her evil as much as distressed.
Well that's it for this collection! I had tons of fun designing these polishes and researching villains who match. Leave a comment down below who your favorite villain is and which polish from the collection you like the most!
